New Car return policy and purchase returned lease vehicle?
I purchased a car this Saturday. I had a lease which was due 2 months from now. I was offered a deal on a vehicle and decided to give my car in and purchase the new vehicle. I had the option to buy the leased car also. I called back in under 24 hours but the person I need to speak to is in tomorrow I would like to return the new car and purchase my lease. Is this possible for the dealer to work on this option with me?

- There is no "right" to return a vehicle once it's been purchased. There's no time frame, not in any state. It is assumed that purchasing a vehicle is a major enough purchase that the buyer would have given some thought to BEFORE obligating themselves financially for several years. Think about it - your car that was new on Saturday is now used...and worth thousands less.
- Well, you did something impulsive and dumb.... and now you're stuck with it. There's no cooling off period when it comes to buying cars. I doubt the dealer will take back the car since the leased car belonged to the bank so they wouldn't get any money for it even if you decided to purchase it. You should've asked the question BEFORE you made this foolish & impulsive decision.
- Enjoy your two vehicles. Or you best pass on purchasing the lease. You may have made that decision already.
- Sorry, but it sounds like a U.F.O......You F@#$%ing Own it.
- You purchased the new car. You signed the paperwork for the new car. The new car is yours now! No cool off period, no option to back out now. All you can do is make your final 2 months payment on your leased car and then turn it in, and hope it isn't over mileage or damaged, other than normal wear and tare, or you could get a bill for the damage and mileage. You said it, you purchased a car on Saturday. Whether the dealership will work with you or give you the option to buy your leased vehicle and take back the newly purchased vehicle is entirely up to the dealership. But that is their decision to make. If you were already approved for a loan, and the dealership sent in the contract that you signed, the dealership doesn't have a choice, and you are stuck with 2 cars for at least 2 months.
