Hi, I have a stupid question:?

Im a college student looking to lease a 2 bedroom apartment. Im new to the whole apartment leasing thing...so I was checking out craigslist and found a few options near my school. The question I have is this: If a listing says, for example, a 2 bedroom apartment for $600 per bedroom, does that mean that only one person is allowed per bedroom? Or, even though its listed as a 2 bedroom apartment, could 4 people (2 people per room) move in and split the rent? Also, does the landlord need to give you permission for how many people can live in each room? Thanks in advance.

  1. Most leases will specify a limit to the number of people that can regularly live in the residence. Four people for a two-bedroom apartment will probably be ok, but you should check with the real estate agent.
