rent to own homes in indianapolis, where do i look?
i have no car which makes this really hard. i am looking for websites or places to call, we want to live in a house but we want to rent period or rent to own....please help me out we are 19 and so very much in love and just wanting to move closer to my family....

- Please tread cautiously regarding rent to own. There are a ton of shysters (especially on CL) that look to take advantage of the desperate and naive. Here is a little about what to look for and to look out for. Most rent to own works this way. You rent for a period of time, typically 2 - 5 years, giving you time to fix and/or establish credit, then you obtain your own financing. Some owners will carry the full term of the contract, most won't. So during your RTO period, make sure you are doing the right things to get youself in a position to obtain your own mortgage. If you are confused by the contract or the owner is pressuring you to sign because it is "just a standard RTO contract" - RUN. Many scammers require a significant down payment, then commit you to an nearly impossible contract, when you break the contract, they evict you and keep your deposit. There is a house not far from me that is on its third or fourth set of RTO people because of scam like this. It may be worth the $100 or so an attorney would charge to have them review the contract.
