When you lease to own a home who is responsible for the mantinance of the home?
For example if the a/c goes out who fixes it? Also who carries home owners insurance on the property?

- The person who leased to own is responsible. You take on all the responsibilites of ownership unless your contract states otherwise
- That should be specified in the contract. Do NOT enter into a "lease to own" deal without having a lawyer review it first. These can be very dangerous to the "purchaser."
- Normally it is the lease holder, but you should read your specific contract.
