Where can I find a free listing for foreclosed homes or rent to own homes in Delaware?

I am looking to buy a home and wanted to know if there was a free list service or website that captured bank owned properties?

  1. Just ask a Realtor. There are not usually free websites, although some banks do have a listing of REO's. The Realtor can check the MLS for you with your criteria and there is no cost to you - the seller pays the commission.
  2. You can always check out www.trulia.com you can search by city or state. There are pictures that cna also be posted of the properties so you can see some online.
  3. You will not find a free list on the web, unless there are some on Craigs List Your best bet is to contact a local realtor.
  4. I'm a Broker that sells foreclosed properties, and i can tell you, whatever you do, DO NOT pay for foreclosure listings! I still get calls from people who are seeing properties I sold in 2006 advertised on some of these sites. Most big banks have their foreclosure properties listed online. Try searching each bank, say "Wellsfargo REO," "FanniemaeREO," or "BankofamericaREO," etc... The best bet is to work with a local real estate agent who handles foreclosures, but not the biggest name in REO in the area (they are often too busy to work with buyers). You can often find the agent names simply by looking at the bank REO listings, which should refer you right to the listing agents. And to be able to buy when you find the right property, get a pre-qualification letter from your lend before you start looking! All banks require them with any offer submitted.
