2. Your best bet is to look in the local newspaper and find ones that are offering "owner financing" or "lease option". But before you do, make sure you understand what you mean by "lease to own". Lease to own could be referring to a Lease option where a buyer and seller agrees to a price and the buyer usually puts down a larger than normal deposit and leases the property for a specific term which the buyer uses to get their credit in order to get financed to purchase the property. When the buyer is good to go the larger than normal deposit will be applied to the down payment of the house. If the buyer/renter fails to find financing, they lose the deposit. Another view is that a buyer "buys" the property at an agreed upon price and part of their rent goes towards paying off the principal. The buyer does not own the property until all of the principal has been paid off thus has no tax advantages and can not sell their interest until the pay the full balance.
