Are there a lot of "Rent To Own" houses in Chicago, Illinois?
My husband & I live in Huntsville, Alabama & we really want to move to Chicago, however, we don't know where to begin. Any advice? Does anyone have a "Rent To Own" home available. All opportunites, will be greatly appreciated.

- The best way to find out how many there are is to talk to a real estate agent from the area. In Illinois (I am from 2 hrs south of chicago) Coldwell banker and Prudential seem to be the most popular ones to work with
- You are advised to have legal counsel check ANY 'rent to own" offers before you enter into a contract. Improperly handled legally, these contracts can end up being nightmares for one or both parties. If you do elect to engage in a 'rent to own' offering, always insure that YOUR interests and payments are legally covered under existing statutes.
