I want to get a rent to own house legally how?

I want this house it says 500 down and 300 a month what do I need to do to make sure once i've paid on it for the specified time I legally own it.I live in S.C, USA

1. just get it in writing and save each and every receipt. it would be worth it to have a lawyer check over the agreement.
2. If this is on the level, there will be paperwork that both you and the seller will sign. Your best bet is to take all your paperwork to a real estate agent before you sign it and ask him/her if it's legit. That should ease your mind.
3. you will agree on a purchase price and finance the purchase. you will get the title then.
4. make sure that you use a reputable broker before you sign anything, check the housing authority, better business bureau you may even check with the attorney generals office
5. keep all reciepts and find notery or book keeper to keep track.
6. Don't pay on nothing yet! Read over everything! If you don't understand nothing, ask questions. Always have a another person with you. Before you PUT ANY MONEY DOWN, on this house MAKE SURE, that it don't have any problems!!! If you don't understand all the paper work, don't sign anything until you do.
