questions to ask concerning rent with option to buy.condos,townhouses,homes?
looking to purchase a home or apartment and not sure what questions to ask when it's RENT WITH OPTION TO BUY.

- This is a tough question, since there's no regulation of this type of contract. I'd suggest: 1. what will the purchase price be if you decide to buy? (Is it fixed in advance? Floating? How is it determined?) 2. Do you get any money back if you decide NOT to buy? 3. Are you committed to buying or can you back out? 4. Can the landlord back out??? 5. How much more are you paying in this deal than you'd be paying if you just rented? (Maybe you'd be better off saving the extra money and earning interest on it.) 6. If you have the option, how long is it good for? 7. How much are the monthly condo fees you'll have to pay if you decide to buy, and can you afford them?
